Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 4 September 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of TutorMe Stellenbosch's website, accounts, checkout and digital educational content. By creating an account or purchasing content, you agree to these Terms.

1. About TutorMe

The supplier is TutorMe Stellenbosch, operating from Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. Our website is tutor-me-stellenbosch.co.za.

You can contact us at statistics224tutor@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +27 65 995 1555.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be 18 years or older to create an account.
  • You must use a Google Account that belongs to you and provide accurate information during sign-in and checkout.
  • Your account and lesson access are personal. You may not share credentials, permit another person to use your account or transfer an account to another person.
  • You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it results from a security failure attributable to us.

Tell us promptly if you believe your account or Google Account has been compromised.

3. The service

TutorMe supplies digital educational content, including pre-recorded video lessons, lesson material, progress tracking and quizzes. A lesson identified as a free preview may be viewed without purchasing it. Other lessons require an active entitlement.

Product descriptions, subjects, module codes, lesson titles, prices and access periods shown before checkout form part of the transaction. Please review the cart before placing an order.

4. Orders and contract formation

Adding a lesson to the cart does not reserve it or conclude a contract. Before payment, you can review the selected lessons, correct the cart or withdraw from checkout.

Your order is an offer to purchase the lessons shown in the final checkout summary. A contract is concluded when Paystack confirms successful payment and TutorMe accepts the order by creating or extending the corresponding lesson entitlement. If payment is received but we cannot accept or fulfil the order, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law.

We may reject an order before acceptance where the lesson is unavailable, the price or description contains an obvious error, payment is not verified, fraud is reasonably suspected or the order would be unlawful. We will not rely on this clause to avoid an agreement that has already been validly concluded.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in South African rand (ZAR). The total shown at checkout is the amount payable for that order and includes any applicable taxes or charges unless a charge is clearly disclosed before you place the order. TutorMe does not automatically renew lesson access or make recurring charges.

Payments are processed by Paystack. TutorMe does not store your payment-card number. You must be authorised to use the selected payment method. A pending or failed payment does not create lesson access.

6. Delivery and four-month access

Access is ordinarily activated electronically as soon as reasonably possible after successful payment verification. Each purchase grants personal access to the purchased lesson for four months, subject to any different period clearly shown before purchase.

If you purchase a lesson while access to that lesson is still active, the new four-month period is added after the later of the existing expiry date and the new payment date. Access then ends automatically without renewal or a further charge.

Lesson pages are linked to your TutorMe account. Some purchased material may be delivered through Google Drive to the same Google identity used for TutorMe. You are responsible for a compatible device, supported browser and internet connection.

7. Personal licence and prohibited conduct

During the applicable access period, TutorMe grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the purchased content for your own private educational purposes. Ownership of the content is not transferred to you.

You may not:

  • copy, record, download or reproduce content except where a TutorMe feature expressly permits it;
  • share, publish, sell, sublicense, distribute or publicly display content;
  • circumvent access controls, probe the service or attempt unauthorised access;
  • use automated tools to scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or data;
  • upload malicious code or interfere with the service; or
  • use TutorMe unlawfully or infringe another person's rights.

8. Intellectual property

TutorMe's lessons, videos, questions, written material, branding, design and other original content are protected by intellectual property law and remain the property of TutorMe or the relevant rights holder. These Terms grant only the personal access licence described above.

9. Availability, maintenance and content updates

We may perform maintenance, address security issues and make reasonable updates to lessons or the website. We will take reasonable steps to restore an interruption attributable to us and will not use this clause to materially remove paid access without providing any remedy required by law.

Internet, Google, Google Drive, Supabase, Paystack or Netlify outages outside our reasonable control may temporarily affect the service. This does not exclude our obligation to exercise due care or any non-excludable consumer remedy.

10. Suspension and termination

We may temporarily restrict an account where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected fraud or misuse, comply with law or prevent harm to the service. Except in an urgent security or legal situation, we will give a reasonable opportunity to remedy a material breach before permanently terminating paid access.

We will not terminate paid access arbitrarily. Termination does not affect rights or remedies that accrued before termination.

11. Account deletion

You may delete your account from your profile. Deletion removes the account, personal information, learning data, lesson access, checkout data and TutorMe payment history and triggers revocation of tracked Google Drive access. Because deletion ends your ability to use purchased lessons, resolve any access or refund request before deleting the account where reasonably possible.

Voluntary account deletion does not itself create a refund, but it does not remove any refund or other right granted by law. Payment providers, banks or accounting providers may separately keep transaction records where law requires it.

12. Privacy and third-party services

Our Privacy Policy explains how TutorMe processes personal information. Google, Paystack and other service providers also process information under their own applicable terms and notices. TutorMe remains responsible for its own duties under applicable law.

13. Refunds, cancellations and consumer rights

Our Refund, Cancellation and Access Policy forms part of these Terms and explains access periods, immediate commencement, cooling-off rights, refunds and remedies.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or waives a right or remedy that may not lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or another applicable law.

14. Educational purpose and results

TutorMe is an independent educational-content service. Unless expressly stated, it is not affiliated with or endorsed by a university, lecturer or examination body. Course names and module codes identify the material the lessons are designed to support.

We do not guarantee a particular mark, pass, academic improvement, admission or other result. You remain responsible for your study decisions and for checking current course and assessment requirements. This does not excuse misleading marketing or defective content.

15. Important liability terms

Please read this section carefully. It limits certain claims against TutorMe only to the extent permitted by South African law.

TutorMe is not liable for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was concluded. To the extent a monetary limitation is lawful, TutorMe's aggregate liability arising from a particular purchase is limited to the amount paid for the affected lesson or lessons.

This limitation does not apply to fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by an act or omission for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded, or any statutory right or remedy that cannot be limited.

16. Complaints and disputes

Send a complaint, including the account email and order reference where available, to statistics224tutor@gmail.com. We will try to resolve it in good faith within a reasonable time.

These Terms do not prevent you from approaching a court, the National Consumer Commission, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or another body with lawful jurisdiction.

17. Electronic records and communications

You consent to receive transaction, account, access, security and legal communications electronically at the email address linked to your account. This consent does not enrol you in marketing.

You can print or save these Terms and the policies linked above. Your profile provides order and access information while your account remains open and the relevant records are retained. You may also request an available transaction record from us.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for future use of the service. The date above identifies the version. A material change will not retrospectively reduce paid access or remove an accrued consumer right. Where law or the nature of the change requires it, we will give reasonable notice or request renewed agreement.

19. General

These Terms, the checkout summary, the Privacy Policy and the Refund, Cancellation and Access Policy form the agreement between you and TutorMe for the relevant purchase. If there is a conflict, mandatory law prevails, followed by the checkout summary for product and price details, then these Terms and the applicable policy.

South African law governs the agreement. South African courts and statutory consumer forums have jurisdiction as provided by law. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or severed only to the extent necessary, without affecting the rest. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
